Senator John Kerry got summoned for jury duty in Boston's Suffolk Superior Court and then was elected jury foreman. He was on a jury that presided over a lawsuit against the city of Boston for injuries suffered in a 2000 car accident.
“I just found him to be a knowledgeable, normal person,” said Cynthia Lovell, a Republican nurse who now says she regrets voting for George Bush in the last election. “He kept us focused. He wanted us all to have our own say.”
“I was a little surprised,” Kerry said about being chosen for jury duty. “I enjoyed it,” he said. “It was very, very interesting and very instructive.”
