ESPN Might Approach Apple for iTunes Deal

Sporting network ESPN has announced it is considering approaching Apple in an effort to make a deal that would see some ESPN programmes available for download on Apple's iTunes service. Cousin network the ABC already has such a deal.

Both ESPN and the ABC are owned by the Walt Disney Co.. The proposal was made ESPN and ABC Sports president George Bodenheimer at the UBS global media conference yesterday. The companies have not entered talks at this time.

Bodenheimer said: "We're not just in the TV business anymore ... We're going to the table as a sports media company."
