A man in the country of Georgia has sewn his own mouth shut in protest of the violation of his rights. He is accused of having thrown a grenade at President Bush of the USA and President Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia.
The grenade didn't explode, but there was a shootout that left the head of the Georgian Interior Ministry's counterintelligence department, Col. Zurab Kvlividze dead.
The defendant had requested that representatives of the Human Rights Watch attend the trial. He said the sentence was "handed down even before the trial began."
