Man Pronounced Dead Comes Back to Life in the Morgue

Lisbon, Portugal: A 95 year-old-man named Manuel Lino was heard coughing hours after declared dead by a doctor. The man was moved to a Portugal care unit from the hospital morgue.

Family members called an ambulance to bring him to a local hospital after Manuel was feeling ill. "With great pain we left him there and returned home where we started preparing the funeral," said Mr Lino's stepson-in-law, Joao Baco.

The hospital contacted the family to inform them Mr. Lino was indeed alive. Mr Lino was released from the hospital on December 7th so he could spend Christmas with his family. Hospital officials said they would investigate what went wrong in the incident.

  Not really uncommon apparently

A TV Program I saw a few years back claimed that up to 1 in 100 people are buried alive (mostly waking in their coffins).

"Were buried alive" would likely be more correct. Embalming kinda lowers the possibility of that to zero.

  Before being buried,

your blood is drained and relaced with embalming fluid, your usualy cut open and things like internal organs are removed, looked at and weighed.

To be buried alive, you'd have to be buried within days od die'ing, you arent.
