Madrid/Spain: Museum "Misplaced" 38-Ton Steel Sculpture

The Reina Sofia museum in Madrid has a problem. The 38-ton heavy steel sculpture of the American artist Richard Serra is untraceable.

The work of art originates from the year 1986 and was purchased one year later for US$220,000 by the museum. The sculpture was exhibited until 1990 and sent afterwards into an art storage warehouse. Unfortunately the management of that warehouse went broke.

When the museum wanted to have the sculpture back a few months ago, it had disappeared without trace, so the Spanish newspapers on Wednesday.

  LeTonduz is right

It's an error in the summary. It says:

" it had disappeared without trace, reported the Spanish newspapers on Wednesday. "

It should probably say:

" it had disappeared without trace, so the Spanish newspapers on Wednesday. "
