NBC announced Sunday that it was canceling the acclaimed TV drama "The West Wing." The the Emmy-winning political drama will end in May after a seven year run on NBC. Ratings had fallen off after its move to Sunday nights and this news was expected.
Facing its worst season in its history, NBC is also juggling some times slots on other shows. “Law & Order” moves up an hour to Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET — placing it against ABC’s “Lost.” “Las Vegas” moves from Monday to Friday starting in March.
“NBC is stable and our vital signs are encouraging,” said Kevin Reilly, NBC entertainment president. “Most predictions were that we were going to go from bad to worse this year, and that hasn’t happened.”
