Ford may Discontinue Minivans

Ford Motor Company is expected to announce that it is getting out of the minivan business. Ford will be discontinuing non-profitable segments as it strives to restructure. Plant closures, layoffs and executive departures are all part of the plan.

"We have to pick and choose where we want to compete," Mark Fields, Ford's executive vice president, said last week. "The idea you have to be in all the segments, that's an old way of thinking."

"What they're essentially saying is, if you can't be No. 1 or 2 in a segment, then it's not worth being there," said the chairman of the Center for Automotive Research.

either you have no children or really like spending lots of extra money on gas to power an oversized SUV of some kind.

  A friend
just got a rental car that was a ford windstar, she has a little girl and is pregnant. She fell in love with it. when she has both car seats in teh car she will be able to have people in her car. Not just the front seat passenger.

Apparently you don't watch the auto market very often... There are SUV's out that seat just as many passengers, and also achieve a better gas mileage rating.

Instead of making up stories and just typing non-sense. Why not post some facts or even links to back up your jibberish. How about the name of a vehicle...

I'm listening...
