Ford Announces Suppliers Cut

The Ford Motor Co. has announced that it will be slashing some 1,700 suppliers from its business, reducing the global number of supplier companies to just 800. The cuts were confirmed by Neil De Koker, from the Original Equipment Suppliers Association.

Paul Wood, a spokesperson from Ford, said that: "This is about developing a more sustainable business model." Ford buys US$70 billion dollars worth of parts every year and its future suppliers include Dan Corp, Lear Corp and Visteon Corp.
