Robot Receptionist

In Japan an employment agency, PeopleStaff, are offering a different kind of receptionist, a robot. For under 50,000 yen ($430) you can have a robot who is capable of sensing a visitor's presence, greeting them and holding a basic conversation.

The agency also offer's an elderly-care robot. It will chat with your loved one and give them riddles and arithmetical problems to help avoid dementia.

  Someday...
We will all have robots. Thinking in the lines of 'I Robot'.

I really do think walking-talking-task-doing robots would really help out, although every person would have to have one. The benefits would be great, we would have much more time for other interests.

It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when...

  It's just a PR stunt
I actually interviewed the Hello Kitty robot in Tokyo, and it's easy to see that she isn't ready to work as a receptionist - atleast not yet. Here's what she had to say: http://www.robots-dreams.com/
