The US space agency NASA yesterday held a day of commemoration, aimed at remembering and honoring astronauts that had died while serving the agency. NASA has lost 17 astronauts, with the Challenger and Columbia disasters most prominent.
Mike Coasts, the director of the Johnson Space Centre, said: “They and their families sacrificed much in the pursuit of their dreams and our dreams. We have not, will not, ever forget what their sacrifice has meant to each of us.”
