FDA Approves Diabetic Inhaler

Exubera, the first inhalable insulin, was granted approval by the FDA on Friday and the European Commmission on Thursday. The inhaler will not replace the need for the injected hormone.

The decision was delayed for three months so that the FDA could review chemistry data on the treatment.

Analysts have said this could become a 1 billion dollar a year seller for Pfizer.
