The United Nations has said that it will continue to provide aid to earthquake victims in Pakistan, despite the recent violence against Western institutions in Muslim countries. The UN does have concerns over worker security.
However, a statement said: “The decision to temporarily restrict the movement of cargo and people did affect some minor aspects of the operation, but there has been no decision to remove UN personnel… in response to these security concerns.”
More than 73,000 people were killed and 3 million made homeless in the earthquake that hit Pakistan on the 8th of October last year.
