World Record Soccer Score 22-0

The Australian soccer team has won a world cup qualifying match against Tonga by the margin of 22 goals.

This is the largest international win in soccer, beating the 20-0 China set against Buhtan in 2000.

Australia also has a chance to try and get even more goals later in the qualifying rounds as Samoa was actually beaten by Tonga and last week American Samoa lost 13-0 to Fiji.

  I love Australian News :o)

I always thought that we had the worst Soccer team in the world, obviously I was wrong. We don't even come close to any team in the Northern Hemisphere but I don't see them making world records :o) Aussie Aussie Aussie!!! Oi Oi Oi!!!

  oops

as far as i know it only happens with really good teams that football is so boring.
if you take the norwegian soccer league (just an example) they don't have results like 0:0 or 1:0 all the time - possibly because their defenses are not so good and because they play cause they want to score and have fun.
so the better football gets the worse for the spectators i think...
that's a shame...
