A House of Representatives subcommittee listened to testimony on Tuesday from victims and families of cruise ship tragedies. Between 2003 and 2005 twenty-four people disappeared from cruise ships and 178 sexual assaults were reported.
An elderly Vietnamese-American couple disappeared last May during a Caribbean cruise. No trace of them was ever found. Twelve of the disappearances were listed as suicides, one accidentally fell overboard and the rest were missing for unknown reasons
