Cubs and Sox Brawl

Michael Barrett was waiting for the ball when AJ Pierzynski plowed over him to score the first run of the 7-0 Whitesox win over the Cubs Saturday.

Michael Barrett then reacted by getting up and slugging Pierzynski across the face. The punch led to the clearing of both benches and stalling the game for 13 minutes.

Barrett said, "Ierzynski had every right to run into him, but added that the White Sox's catcher -- who always seems to be in the middle of wild plays -- got up and nudged him after the collision, instead of heading toward his dugout."

  Pierzynski

didn't even nudge Barrett, he was trying to go around him to get his helmet that fell off during the collision. The Cubs are sore losers :P.

  I have seen the clip

I would have hit the SOB too.

IMO He was arrogant, unsportsmanlike, and was NOT simply going for his helmet, he intentional caused further contact.

All that being said, there was finally a clip of baseball worth watching, perhaps more fights might make the sport better….

  You may

want to watch the clip again. When going around to get his helmet Pierzynski does not even touch Barrett until Barrett goes up to him and gives Pierzynski a bear hug. What was he supposed to do, leave his helmet behind Barrett?

  Oh yeah

Arrogant and unsportsmanlike is what punching another player in the face is, not slapping your hand down on home plate. Give me a break.

  Bull

What a bunch a bull. Everyone's like Aj ran into Barret when getting his helmet, wouldn't you think he would be wobbly after colliding 210 pound jerk. And he did have to collide with him or else he wouldn't have been safe. It's perfectly legal to run into people and slap the plate, he did that to make sure he was safe. All you Cubs are just looking for yet another excuse for losing, *cough cough* Does Steve Bartman ring a bell?
