Fish Flu Hits the UK

A fish farm in North Yorkshire (UK) has been hit by a rare deadly infectious disease leading to the deaths and slaughtering of thousands of fish.

While wild fish health is being checked in the area, a movement restriction has been placed and 19 tonnes (up to 3,000 fully grown fish per tonne) of fish died from the disease or were killed by electronic stunning in the water.

The outbreak of viral haemorrhagic septicaemia (VHS) is being investigated by Defra scientists meanwhile, Government officials are assuring the public that the disease poses no risk to humans.

LOL, BEEF!!! We shall all eat beef and go catch our own fish... See how many people would be able to survive by hunting/catching their substinance.

  I got something
Why can’t we have a mosquito flu that wipes out the mosquito population? Why is it always something beneficial or edible that gets decimated?

Mosquito=Minnesota state bird.

phew.. for a second i thought you were going to say we should eat them, and as for your plan i think the government tried that once, it was called the West Nile project, but it failed.

  you raise em in crowded closed pools
living in their own feces and runnoff from the surrounding lands.

then u wonder how the disease starts and spreads

I remember the trucks came into my town and were spraying the gas they made to destroy the mosquito's. From what I saw it worked for about 2-3 weeks no mosquito's. The trucks came again and this time the mosquito's had become immune to the poison and it actually looked like it attracted them.

  No Problems...
I can subsist off of a solely bacon-rich diet. Although I do loves me my chicken...

I think valk ment something that killed mosquitos, not something that they carry.

  Either way
Either we die starving or we die from food
(I prefer to die with full stomach)
