"Big Ben" Roethlisberger Injured in Motorcycle Accident

Ben Roethlisberger was injured early Monday morning while riding his motocycle. The accident occured in a heavily congested area in Pittsburg, PA.

The 24 year old quarterback is listed in serious, but stable condition. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening. It was reported that his head hit the windshield of a car. He was not wearing a helmet.

Roethlisberger led the Pittsburg Steelers to a win in the 2006 Superbowl, becoming the youngest quarterback ever to do so. Last year, during an interview, he stated that he prefered not wearing a helmet while riding his motocycles.

it appears he has a broken jaw.

honestly, he doesn't deserve this, but i don't feel sorry for him. You publicly refuse to wear a helmet, you still refuse after your head coach, Hall of Famers, and others dissapprove....you feel the pain in an accident.

  the thing is...

...Terry Bradshaw told him in 2005 to put the motorcycle away until he's retired because this happened to someone on the Cleveland Browns, I believe. They had to adjust that guys contract so he was forbidden to ride after he did that and injured his knee. I think Cowher (however you spell his name) and Rooney even told him to stop riding because it's too great of a risk, and if anybody has ever rode on the roads of PA, especially around Pittsburgh, you know how horrible the roads are in and around the city.

My only thing is I'm from Pittsburgh and I'm getting tired of hearing about this all day. Then again, I prefer hockey over football any day.

He says "Like man I play superbowl and I wear a helmet I also ride a hog and don't wear one."(how stupid is that!)

If you get thrown from a motorcycle hard enough to need a helmet then you're probably going to die either way.
