Dustin Diamond Selling Shirts to Keep House

Dustin Diamond, known as Screech on the televison show "Saved By The Bell", is trying to sell t-shirts. He is doing this because he is trying to raise money so he can keep his house.

Dustin is trying to sell 30,000 shirts. They cost 15 to 20 dollars each. On the front it has a picture of Dustin holding a sign saying "Save My House". On the back it says "I paid $15 to save Screech's house".

He is selling the T-shirts through his personal web site.

  Actually it says...

"I paid $15.00 to save Screeech's house."

He added an extra e to get around copyright.

So you are not really saving Screech's house, you are saving Screeech's house.

  @whiskers.

wtb are you talking about?

  @RoBBoB

Screech isn't his real name, it is from the show....eventhough he plays the characters doesn't give him the right to use the name in anyway he wants.
So he has many shirts with one of them spelled out "screeech" instead of "screech"

  You know...

I saw this story yesterday, but thought, you know what, no one cares about this dude, no one is going to read the story. How wrong I was. Good job Rachel!

  Howard Stern

He was on the Howard Stern show and he was talking about the size of his "manhood". He claims it's 10+ inches and complains that it touches the toilet water when he sits down. It was pretty funny stuff.

If that was true I dont think he would have a problem getting 250k for his house.

  That's what Howard said...

They brought up porn, etc but Diamond stated something along the lines of his girlfriend/wife wouldn't be too happy about that.

It was interesting to hear more of his story (whether it's fully legit or not). His parents screwed him over and pissed all his money away. I think he only got 25% of the money he made from the tv show. He said that he made about $2 million but I don't know if that meant his 25% share or $2 million in total. He also talked about spending $125000 for medical bills because his wife/girlfriend had pregnancy complications and lost their baby. She had to have some reconstruction of her "womanhood" areas.

I'm kind of divided on this. The guy has a $450000 home he can't afford because he got screwed over by some crook. Boo hoo. Move into a smaller home. On the other hand, I have a $300,000 home and it's "my home". I wouldn't want to leave either and if I thought I could save it by selling some t-shirts, I would.

  Shame

Now thats sad and pathetic.

  yeah...

But as i seem to remember when he did Saved by the Bell that was from early teen to late teens.

But then there was an abomination (not that the first wasnt) Saved by the Bell (the new class) where Screech was a teacher and the actor playing him i.e. Diamond was an adult.

Not to mention all the crappy saved by the bell movies etc.

maybe his parents did piss his early teen money away, but what happened after that?

  Don't get paid much.

If I understood Diamond correctly, he made $2 million from all of the Saved By The Bell shows because it was just a Saturday morning kids show and not a prime time show.

This is fairly believable considering he wasn't the only star of the show and they aren't going to pay "Friends" $1 million per episode type of money.

Regardless, he's using his celebrity status in an attempt to save his way of life. I won't be buying one of those T-Shirts for that.

  hm

I'd rather buy a bono shirt, even if
the guy does have extraordinarily pink
glasses... at least he helps other
people that no one cares about, and
not his "10+ junk." Yea, screw you
howard stern for having Mr. Diamond on
your show. That was so lame. *searches
google images*... yeah, not true.

  Just a guess but...

I'm pretty sure if i got screwed out of my house and had to raise $190,000 (cuz that's what it's worth) i couldn't do it by selling t-shirts.

Sorry Screech, i'm not crying for ya'. Life sucks for all of us but at least you will always have your screech-hood to fall back on.

I do hope he gets to keep the house, i'm just not buying a shirt.

  hmmm

He needs to rethink the market... people didnt tune into save by the bell to look at his face...

if he had "Saved by the Bong" t-shirt. with a big picture of a pot leaf on the back. and a picture of him hitting it on the front..

he might sell a few.
