Chestnut is U.S. Hope to Reclaim Mustard Yellow Belt

The mustard yellow belt is symbolic of gastronomic greatness for which 6-foot-1, 230-pound Joey Chestnut is warming up. In preparation for the annual Coney Island hot dog eating competition he downs 40 hot dogs or more in a single sitting.

Chestnut is the great American hope at reclaiming the belt from Takeru Kobayashi of Japan, who has worn the belt since July 4, 2001.

Kobayashi is undefeated in eating competitions on American soil.

  Kobayashi is something to watch

He is incredible. I don't know where he puts away all the dogs. They demonstrated how large his stomach was after one of the competitions by filling a balloon with 51 hot dogs. Boggles the mind.

  Word Wrap

Good article, but it took me a moment to realize that he is 6'1" and 230lbs and not 6' and 1,230lbs. The 1 from 6-foot-1 wraps around and makes it look like he was over 1/2 ton. I bet he could really win then.
