Outraged and Outspoken Radio DJ Quits Live On Air

Radio personality Inetta 'the Moodsetta' Boykin Hinton of WBLX-FM 92.9 in Alabama decided to go public with an impromptu statement about her coworkers and announced her resignation on the radio with a famous line, "I quit this b***h!"

The captured 90-second audio clip has become a popular circulation around the internet, as she describes in detail: "I refuse to walk around and watch people on my job looking over my shoulder. People lying to me. People talking about me."

Upset that she was only making $6 an hour and only got a raise once after six-years was one of many catalysts. The station did not silence her live speech, and "after that, she left," said the station's operations manager James Alexander.

  $6 an hour?

Who works for six dollars an hour? Even McDonald's employees make more than that.

  6 bucks an hour????

What the hell, the sponsors pay like 6,000 dollars or more to get their name said on the radio. How they get away that. The DJs for the morning show here get paid like 80 grand for 4 hours of work a day ( one of the morning talk shows) that doesnt include the free perks that they get from the other sponsors.

  Ah.... radio;.

I was getting paid minimum wage to be a DJ at a commercial station... it pissed me off how little they paid us. It was a tiny station, though. The owner walked in one day and said "Hey, did you notice you got a payraise?" and laughed. Minimum wage had just been increased.

I quit soon after. Not long after that it got turned into an AM conservative talk-radio station.

  I heard that..

Not live, but I heard it a few hours later

She'll easily get hired somewhere else - just not
anywhere near the coast. Funny how they went to
commercial after her saying she quit...

  Heh...

...if it were Dallas or Tulsa radio markets, she would have people knocking down her door to give her another job.

  Yeah she'll...

...have no problem. She'll help boost any radio station's ratings after this.

I still cannot believe she was working as a radio DJ for $6 an hour though. Ive never heard anything like that.
