EU to Go After Intel for Antitrust?

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the European Commission -- the administrative branch of the European Union -- believes it has enough evidence to form a case against the Intel Corp in an antitrust battle.

The report stated that "Investigators for the European Commission in Brussels have prepared a written draft of charges against Intel and are gearing up to defend their conclusions before an internal 'devil's advocate' panel of legal experts."

It went on to read that the WSJ had made contact with "two people with knowledge of the case" to make the report. An investigation was launched by the EU into Intel's practices following allegations by rival AMD.

  You Racist/sexist/istist

If AMD cant make good products, itsa not becuase they're a bad company, or Intel is a good one, remember, everything is equal.
Its obvious Intel just broke the law, or cheated, or should be punished for being better.

God Bless the EU, just like you blessed jesus.

  this isnt about inferior products

this is about intel using its power and influence to stop stockist of its cpus selling AMD brand cpu's or giving preference and discounts to stockinst who soley stocked intel cpu's. The EU is well justified to go after intel as all of its practises of the past are coming back to haunt it one by one

You're pissed because someone is enforcing the law on a multinational who is illegaly muscling anyone else out of the market?

Must really rile you when murderers get locked up...

The only thing this will do...

...is make lawyer and politicians rich, create inferior products and raise prices as this will all be passed on to the consumer.

If people want AMD, they can BUY AMD, and I will sell it to them.

This is no different than EU penalizing Microsoft for making and integrating a better browser than Netscape.

I think the EU is only trying to muscle money from these US companies because they don't get campaign contributions like the US politicians do.
