Fox News Slow to Correct Foley-Democrat Label

On Tuesday the Fox News channel displayed a photo of Mark Foley with a label underneath saying that he was a Democrat. When re-broadcast, the same graphic was re-shown but not stating 'Republican' with the 'Democrat' label being omitted.

The producer of The O'Reilly Factor, David Tabacoff, which aired the images, says it "didn't run a correction per se," adding that there was no need since "everyone knows" Foley is a Republican.

A later edition of the show, broadcast over 24 hours later, did finally show a photo correctly labeling him as a Republican, Tabacoff said, adding "It was an honest mistake."

  so much of a "mistake"...

same label.

being lied to

A: As low as it takes.

why in hell would they do something like this on purpose? everyone knows hes a rep... however it looks like they did do it to misslead... i sure hope this wasn't on purpose

Because Joe Q. Bloe believes whatever he sees on the news because it's "true", whether it's Fox or not.

Fear uncertanty doubt.

Virtualy every republican has laucnhed massive publicised attacks against him, far more severe then the Dems have.
Sounds like a Dem
He's admitted he's gay, hardly a republican trait.
So, he's a dem.
Then the news says he's a dem, them just says nothing.

People go from thinking he's a Rep to "knowing" he's a Dem.

And all you remember is tat the Democrats didnt attack one of their own who tried to molest children.

That a good enough reason to lie?

Isn't this the news service with two opinions ... Bush's AND Cheney's?

  Hmmmm

"He's admitted he's gay, hardly a republican trait."

There are as many gay Republicans as there are gay Democrats. The Dems are just more honest about it. IMO.

  Erm, my point exactly

When most people think gay politician, they think he's wearing a blue tie,

I'm in no way defending Fox, but Choam isnt the be all and end all of truth in the universe.

You should use a variety of sources and treat them all with utter contempt.

Your just a blinded by chomsky as Digital Darkness is by Fox.

Hugo:
"do more Americans really get their news from fox than any other news channel ??"

You bet your ass they do. People watch CNN too, but Fox just seems to be the most watched.

I dont understand why people hate fox so much. If people like Bill orielly want to sit and lie then let him do it. Ive caught orielly a couple of times, He is a pretty good commentator. A bit arrogant though.

"with crap and lies this OLilely spouts on air"

Can you back this up? Examples?

http://www.youtube.com/ This is the Lie
http://www.youtube.com/ This is the Crap

CNN is center-right. But I can live with that.

If it was no big deal, they republicans would have owned up to it, the News articles would have owned up to it.

Fox ducking and diving with the Foly R/D reminds me of Ahmadinejhad with the Nuclear Weapons.

  @The Wrong

OK, example
http://www.netscape.com/
He called American war dead, men murdered by the SS at Malmady, murderers. It was the German SS troops that shot unarmed Americans. He claims the Americans murdered German troops. What an idiot. He actually had the gall to repeat the lie and then when busted tried to change the name to Normandy. What an @$$hat. Check Youtube.com for piles of crap from O’liely.
