Mets Force Game 7 in NLCS


With a 4-2 victory over the Cardinals, the New York Mets tied the series at 3 forcing game 7 which will be played Friday night at Shea Stadium in New York.

John Maine threw 5 1/3 innings allowing only 2 hits and 0 runs. Backed up by the bullpen, the Mets shut the Cardinals out for eight innings. Jose Reyes started the game with a lead-off homerun in the bottom of the first to get the Mets on top early.

The Cardinals threatened in the ninth when Taguchi (4-4 in the post season with 2 HR and 2 doubles) hit a two-out, two-run double in the top of the ninth.
