Skype Creators Planning Internet TV

The creators of Skype and KaZaA plan to launch an internet television service. The service will be free to consumers due to advertising. The founders say that judging by the popularity of YouTube the timing is right for internet television.

Janus Friis, who co-founded Skype, said that the group already is in negotiation with a number of TV production companies but says the system, code named 'Venice', will accept quality content from anybody.

Friis also said, "We will simply present it to the public when we feel that it works well enough and there is enough content. And it will not be much longer before it is out. It is a question of a month or two."
