A semi-trailer carrying two 55-gallon drums of Bondmaster glue dropped its load all over a state road Tuesday around 10:30am. Officers at the scene diverted traffic off Indiana 67, 38, and U.S. 36 after the spill.
10 people were treated at the scene or nearby hospitals for related irritations or getting some of the load on them. The cleanup began at about 1pm and the roads were clear of the sticky load by 1:30pm.
"Everything went really well," Fire Chief Danny Gardner said. "We had to evacuate some people, but that was just to act safely on the side of caution.” The truck driver was cited for having a leaking load and failing to properly secure his cargo.
