Busta Rhymes Busted

Arrested in August for assaulting a man at a music festival {SN Reported}, rapper Trevor Smith (a.k.a. Busta Rhymes) made his first appearance on third degree assault charges.

"I can tell you, judge, my client is innocent, and I rarely say this in a courtroom," declared one of Busta Rhymes lawyers. Recently, Rhymes had turned himself in to the police.

Police had been looking for Busta Rhymes as being witness of one of his bodyguard's death in early 2006. To make matters worse, he was busted for driving past a cop-station while talking on a cell phone. Bail for the assault was set at $3,500.

  Even funnier
How would you know that? It sounds to me like you don't even listen to Busta Rhymes, or rap at all for that matter. Yet you make a statement like that, how shocking.

Busted for driving past a cop station while talking on the phone? That's illegal?

Certain states and counties have laws in place for driving while talking on a phone. If it's a county, you can usually get out of the charge if you take it to court but that ends up costing you more anyway. Since it's just a local ordinace then you just pay a small fine and it doesnt even go on your record.
