Daughter of Burt Bacharach and Angie Dickinson Commits Suicide

Composer and singer Burt Bacharach and actress Angie Dickinson mourn the death of their daughter Nikki Bacharach, 40. She committed suicide Thursday night at her condo after a long struggle with Asperger’s Disorder, which is a form of autism.

“She quietly and peacefully committed suicide to escape the ravages to her brain brought on by Asperger’s,” read a statement from the family. "She loved kitties, and earthquakes, glacial calving, meteor showers, science, blue skies and sunsets."

  A very sad story

But understandable.

One of my good friends lost his brother, who was suffering with terminal cancer.
He went outside one day, sat under his favorite Oak tree, and put a pistol to his head.

To this day I do not consider what he did to be suicide. Just a quick end to intolerable pain.

you have an illness you know will never resolve sometimes it makes you do things liike this, I understand what she did, as she could not control the way her brain acted and it must have been very painful for her.

  Ummm...?

She loved... Earthquakes and Meteor showers?

Am I seriously misreading this article?

Earthquakes (I'm not quite so sure about Meteor Showers) kill thousands and thousands of people a year and are not something I would think any normal person would list as something their late family loved...

  @rickead

maybe not, she was a geologist and perhaps to her there was nothing as exciting as the feeling / knowledge of something like tetonic plate creating earthquakes, while i dont love them, they are pretty amazing...
