An iguana named Mozart who resides at the Aquatopia Zoo in Antwerp, Belgium may have to have his penis amputated because he still has an erection from a session with a female iguana six days ago.
Zoo spokesperson Enid Balemans said that Mozart would see the vet on Thursday and other treatment options were still being sought. She said the lizard did not appear in pain but "I imagine that if you are a man and you look at Mozart it hurts."
Even if the worst happens and an amputation is deemed necessary Mozart will not lose his reproductive options - male iguanas come with a second penis.
