53-year-old West Virginian Glenn Harold Vickers has been arrested for drunk driving after he crashed his station wagon into a guard rail while trying to give a local sheriff the finger.
Vickers had been driving behind Sheriff Mike Rutherford and was weaving in his lane and tailgating the sheriff's unmarked jeep. As they approached an exit Vickers flipped off Rutherford just as he crashed.
Sheriff Rutherford, who was driving home from a meeting, said, "There's no question in my mind he was not paying attention. When he was stopped and I introduced myself, you could tell he was surprised. It was like all the air was taken out of him."
