Man Tasers Wife's Grandmother Over Discipline Dispute
26-year-old Aaron de Bruyn from North Bonneville, Washington has been charged with fourth-degree domestic violence assault after he used a Taser on his wife's grandmother during a dispute over child discipline.
De Bruyn slapped his seven-month-old son on his diaper-padded backside to keep him from playing with electrical cables. The grandmother, Rosemary Garlock, accused him of abuse. An argument ensued and Garlock was asked to leave.
When she refused de Bruyn used a 50,000-volt Taser X26 on her shoulder. He then called the police saying that a relative would not leave his house when asked. Police confiscated the Taser. The grandmother was uninjured.
I honestly understand, violence does not solve any problem, however, now a days, it seems like everyone is geraing up for later issues than solving real time issues.
This granny had no business, uttering the abuse to a father, just because she thinks she can. A child who had been patted or even slapped on his rear padded tush, is still a child who is padded and alive.
I have seen myself jump in horror, when my son was putting a Parker ball point pen (metal case) in an electric outlet.
Now-a-days, divorces and fighting for a child is a normal thing and people, vey subtly intonate, only to be used later in the court, during custody battles. (Been there too)
She was asked to leave, refused, got zapped. Extreme, but it worked. She will think twice of going there now.
I honestly understand, your sentiment. If this was done to my mother how would I feel.
cant say anything, nothing, the world is screwed up and getting more screwed as i write these words....crap. die humans die! atleast i will have peace in that no human being is alive to be a scumbag
If my grandmother-in-law came over for a visit, and then accused me of abuse for tapping my son on his diapered bottom, I would be upset. When she refused to leave, I'd be infuriated--however, I seriously do not think that using a taser on an elderly woman because she refused to leave is the answer. I would have called the authorities and had her forcibly removed, yes--but I would not taser her myself. Leave that liability to the authorities, and avoid charges on yourself. Common sense.
Also: @FunkMan I know that your comment is a sad attempt to create incendiary commentary toward yourself for attention's sake. However, for the sake of discussion, please refrain from commenting if you have nothing to add to the discussion.
Can not understand why or what he or she has done wrong, so it is of no use at all to punish them that way, yes the Granny should leave when asked, but maybe she had good reason to stay I would if my family were at risk.
I will lay bets this guy will hurt someone else in their family.
the grandmother may have stepped out of her place.. but a taser was totally unnecessary, unless she was swinging around a lead-filled purse. he could have picked her up and plunked her outside the door.
who refuses to leave my home after being asked to leave, and maintains a hostile attitude towards me, would be happy to have me tazer them. The alternative is not pretty. The local police agree with me, I am allowed to use any non-lethal force I deem necessary to free my house from intruders. The only reason this guy got charged at all is because it was a relative and falls under domestic abuse laws. I'm really not sorry to say this either, but, even if my own father got rude and nasty and refused to leave when asked, it could get ugly. The level of violence to remove the intruder is decided by the intruder, they could of left when asked before it reached said point, or never arrived if they knew such altercation could take place. You just don't mess with people in their own home, if they were at grandmas' house it would have been a different story.
Tazer for home defense - $100.00 Batteries - $5.00 Argument over discipline - $0.00 Being able to your wife's grandmas' face when she realized you were serious about her leaving. Priceless
1) That's too young to spank a child....but we don't even know how hard he hit the kid. I'm sure the kid was checked for any signs of abuse.
2) The man tasers his wife's mom (not grandma) and he gets charged...why? BECAUSE HE WAS DUMB ENOUGH TO ABUSE SOMEONE AND CALL THE POLICE!
3) The thought of tasering an elderly person is hilarious, but yet very questionable for his character. I hope the mailman doesn't forget to deliever all his junk mail one day...
Had the old women had been a man of equal age he wouldn't be in trouble. This is sexism and agism at it's finest. You can't let someone get away with something just because they are old and female.
I think the guy was doing something else. He disciplined the child by providing some negative feedback to something the kid shouldn't have been doing. Then when the grandmother disputed this he simply demonstrated the effect electricity has on the human body, and hoped that it would help her to understand his decision to discipline the child. He may have used the quote, "If this hurt you that badly, imagine what the kid would feel." Then the cops were called to reinforce this idea, because any upstanding citizen knows that the police are here to educate as well as protect.
I'm just kidding by the way. Please don't take this seriously.
