Retired Trucker 1, Pit Bull 0

While taking his morning stroll in the neighborhood, retired trucker Von Pardue thought it would be just another pleasant walk. He was wrong. Hearing a dog barking Mr. Pardue turned to see a Pit Bull running towards him at attack speed.

Mr. Pardue put his hands up to protect himself and yelled at the dog, which promptly jumped for his throat. A fight ensued with Mr. Pardue getting the upper hand holding onto the dog’s collar and neck.

Mr. Pardue proceeded to drag the dog home where his wife called 911. Upon arrival of the police Mr. Pardue released the dog which slumped from his grip, dead from strangulation.

  Good for him!

But the animal rights wackos who insist stupid dogs are "canine Americans" will want this guy tried for killing the dog as if it were a person.

  Hm

I'm starting to think that "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" means "troll" in some language or other.

  @ ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I am a very avid animal rights activist, and indeed own a Pit myself.

However, this incident involved a dog in attack mode, the man defended his life.

I don't see a problem with that.
I don't see your logic of thought either.

  well...

..there is that whole leash law thing ya know....so no matter how you look at this, the owner is at fault.

  Question is

Why did the wife call 911?

What exactly was she hoping that the police might do to this guy?

I'm not ruling out a lawsuit here. Because the only thing more vicious and bloodthirsty than a Pit Bull, is a lawyer who smells money.

  @mberg

I assume she called 911 in a panic because she thought her husband might've been injured?

  by: velger   02/03/2007 02:24 AM
Had I been the man that dog was attacking

I would have tried friendly persuasion.
I would invite the dog to accompany me to a good restaurant for dinner.
We would eat and enjoy a pleasant conversation on the pros and cons of biting armed strangers, then I would blow his head off.

On the lighter side.

The definition of an agnostic, dyslexic insomniac:

A person who stays up late, every night, wondering if there's a Dog.

Cheers!
