Ebay 'Claim' to Have Fixed Security Hole Exploited by 'Vladuz'

Ebay has claimed to have fixed a security hole on their front page that allowed scammers to hijack Ebay accounts. There has been no comment to verify if the potential to redirect within listings has been fixed.

The security hole has recently been infamously exploited by a Romanian hacker known as "Vladuz." The security hole is thought to be responsible for a recent upsurge in the number of hijacked Ebay accounts.

Ebay has been rapped for not being more forthcoming about security vulnerabilities. Many users have also complained about Ebay's "heavy-handed" tactics, such as suspending users who have asked questions about security.

Hacker Vladuz Says eBay's Durzy is "Full of Shit"
http://firemeg.blogspot.com/...

eBay has been quick to remove any and all posts from their discussion board that merely mention the word "Vladuz." (Here is one post that was cached by Google before being removed.) http://firemeg.com/... one of which says "It looks as if the eBay site security has been compromised and that hackers now have control over our listings at will."

Be careful lots of sellers hacked, do not respond to second offers or buy it now listings without first confirming seller's email is same as on ebay.

ebay didn't close hole far enough

Anyone who is reading this article should note that there have been at least two more documented hackings of eBay by Vladuz since eBay closed the hole.
