Tyan, a personal computer manufacturer recently announced their latest 'SuperComputer' - the 40 CPU Core TYANPSC T-650 Series.

With 10 Quad Core Intel Xeon processors, and up to an amazing 60GB of Ram the PC has 256 Giga-Flops of processing power, and only draws a minor 15A.

Prices start at around $20,000 and the makers say that their new PC is completely portable - making it perfect for LAN parties with all of those other 40 CPU Core Super Computers in your neighborhood!

Is this a computer that can actually run FEAR on completely full graphics?

  Yea right
Pay $20,000 for this PC now and in 6 months it won't even be worth $500.

little bit of an over exaggeration don't you think.

i actually track computer prices... since the release of intel's core duo 2 the prices of computers have been relatively fixed...

10 $1000-1500 (canadian) CPU's and 60GB of RAM which, probably alone costs $5000

this actually sounds like a cheap computer for what it is, about $23,000 canadian, about $24,000 after tax...

but yes computer prices do fell like bricks from time to time... like the release of the core duo 2.

similarly when photonic computers are released the computers we have now are going to be dirt cheap.

  Super Computer? LOL!
I am pretty sure that a Mac is acutely better than this... Just what I think. Mac is 64 GB and has Tera-flops. Not giga-flops
