Old Melon Found

Archaeologists in the western Japanese city of Moriyama have dug up what appears to be the oldest melon ever found.

Radiocarbon testing indicates the fruit is approximately 2,100 years old.

The melon is so well preserved that it still has flesh on the rind. Scientists believe it survived due to the condition of the soil it was buried in.
