The mystery of the 5,300 year old man found on a melting Swiss glacier in 1991 has been solved. He was likely murdered.
"Oetzi", as he's been dubbed, sustained multiple injuries on his hands consistent with a fight. The wound that killed him was an arrow in the back. The arrow cut the artery under his collarbone, resulting in a quick death from massive blood loss.
Other details about the Stone Age man's last day have also emerged, indicating that he hadn't been on the glacier for long before he was killed.
