According to a recent survey from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 out of 20 adults in the U.S. have never had sex before, with rates tripling among the Mexican-American population, the lowest of any ethnicity.
The CDC said: "Approximately 96 percent of adults age 20-59 years have had sex, with the age group 20-29 having the lowest percent (91 percent)." Also in the report, 15% waited until they were 21 or older before they had sex for the first time.
Additionally, the number of people who lost their virginity before they reached the age of 15 was 16%.
The survey used data gathered from the period 1999-2002.
