Harry Potter Teachings Approved by Church
 

Owen Smith, a youth worker at St Margaret's Church in Rainham (Kent) published a guide to help young people learn more about Christian values and morality from Harry Potter.

Smith said, "It's all about morals... dealing with issues of trust, issues of love and sacrifice" about the book & Stephen Green, of Christian Voice added that "it could be a doorway to the occult” as young children often integrate stories & real life.

This is not the first time JK Rowling stories were praised; in 2003, the Vatican showed its approval when an official said that the book series showed “the difference between good and evil".

with their testament. And now we’ll have the Potters with their testament? I can hear it now, “Harry 23:7 And the muggles shall be cast down into the pits of spiders and be beaten by a tree.”

I didn't know that Mormon's went door to door, Jehovah's Witnesses - now that's another story all together. Mormon's just have those crazy commercials on TV.

yea, i thought the same.
In the UK jehoovah's witnesses never knocked on my door but, they stop people on the street and that is SO annoying if you are in a hurry. I normlly continue walking, grab whatever papers they are pointing my way and smile then a few meters down the road i throw them away or if i am getting on a train/ have a longtrip i read them for fun!

I've grown up with quite a few, and the ones I know are the nicest, best-hearted people I've ever met.

Their religion is a bit whacky but hey so's the Catholic one =). At least when they made up their own church they were original with it!

that South Park episode was pretty hilarious.
I'm a religious person but at the same time I am realisitc.
Some of the mormon people I knewi n high school were really cool nice, good-hearted people. That doesn't mean they are all like that. Every religion has its wonderful, good people then the opposite who ar people who don't care and don't have morals.
When judging people, I won't judge you by your religion at all. Thats fine because a person can have their own beliefs and it wont bother me. Rather, I will judge you by your character and how you are. So I don't like someone, its not because they are a certain religion, its just because their character was a not a good person. Unfortunaely, in this society, many just judge by the religion and assume everyone in that faith is that way.

As for Harry Potter....
I can't say much, because I've never read a book or seen any of the movies. It never seemed to attract me.
