A council order that all donkeys in the town of Limuru (Kenya) should wear nappies to help keep the town clean has been delayed after locals reacted negatively to the new law.
The law was supposed to take effect on the 16th of July, however, it has been halted. Donkeys are used for personal and business transport by many locals but government officials are worried about the cleanliness of the streets.
While some local donkey owners accepted the bill, many complained that the council needs employ more street sweepers and make use of the tax paid by the locals or teach the locals how to tie nappies on donkeys without getting fatally kicked.
