Green Car Guide Launched on the Web

A new web site has been launched in the UK by the Department for Transport that lists the greenest cars across the board. Using a ranking system, users are able to chose the car they're looking at buying, and the site then offers the greenest models.

Jim Fitzpatrick, the UK's Transport Minister, said: 'Climate change affects everyone and everyone can make a contribution to tackling it. ... Drivers could reduce their engine's carbon dioxide emissions by 24% and potentially save ... on fuel costs.'

Australia has had something similar for a while now. And so has the U.S.

  Brown Car Guide?

They should call it the brown car guide after the color of the smog that comes from the exhaust pipes. It's a bad misnomer to call the cars green.
