A lamb with seven legs was born last Friday on a farm in New Zealand. Dave Callaghan, owner of the farm, said he was surprised when he saw the seven-legged animal walking around with its mother and twin sibling.
The lamb is able to walk using two forelegs and three hind legs, while two of the extra legs are useless.
"I have never seen anything like that," said Callaghan.
Veterinarian Steve Williams at the Canterbury Vets clinic said due to an error during embryo formation, the lamb is a hermaphrodite and missing some of its bowel so it will be destroyed.
"To keep it alive is probably inhumane, really," he said.
