Patrick Bills, of Springfield, MO, has filed a lawsuit against Bristol-Myers Squibb and Schering Corporation, alleging that the antibiotic drug Tequin causes diabetes.
According to the suit, which was filed on Tuesday, the plaintiff states that he experienced severe hypoglycemia after taking the drug and was subsequently hospitalized as a result.
Bills accuses Bristol-Myers of promoting the drug without warning users of potentially dangerous side effects. Bristol-Myers spokesman Tony Plohoros declined to comment on the suit citing company policy not to comment on ongoing litigation.
