60-year-old Sioux Falls, South Dakota resident Verle Peter Dills has been held on $10,000 bond and charged with burglary, indecent exposure and unlawful occupancy. He was arrested after being chased out of a neighbor's yard with his video camera.
The neighbor found Dills returning for a second time with his video recording equipment after chasing him off once already. The footage recovered shows him masturbating and engaging in sex acts with traffic signs - two years worth in all.
The independent contractor rented a basement from Doris Thyberg for 12 years. "Everybody kind of liked him, and he helped me with so many things. I really trusted the man," she said. His lawyer said he was a good person, even doing work on his cabin.
