Ayman al-Zawahri, Al-Qaida deputy leader claims that the US is being defeated in Afghanistan and other areas in his latest 80-minute video release.
Speaking in an office type surrounding al-Zawahri says “What they claim to be the strongest power in the history of mankind is today being defeated in front of the Muslim vanguards of jihad six years after the two raids on New York and Washington.”
The new video release begins with the voice of Mohammed Atta in a cockpit audiotape saying “Nobody move. Everything will be OK. If you try to make any move you will endanger yourself and the aeroplane. Just stay quiet.”
"US Losing War in Afghanistan" is quite declarative and misleading. I would hardly qualify any Al-Qaida member as a credible source for such lofty declarations.
Even the source's headline points out that it's a quote. "Al-Qaida deputy: US being defeated in Afghanistan"
Aside from that, the article looks good. More Al-Qaida rhetoric, but properly reported.
@CArd "US Winning War in Afghanistan" wouldn't be misleading though is say Bush claimed it ...lol
anyway quiz time
Ok today’s quiz boys and girls. This guy is obviously full of crap but another guy with a beard released a video not so long ago (Bin Laden) and that wonderful corporate media concentrated all it’s reporting how he looked and was his bead real and crap like that. But the question is this, what did Bin Laden actually say that was so important and sort of “overlooked” in all the media reporting in that latest video.
Give it a little time and we'll see if anyone spotted something new , it was of some considerable importance but not picked up by the international media for some odd reason.
CNN did a documentary on the state of the Afghan people.
Sen. Fred Thompson once remarked that cigarettes would lead to the uprising of the Afghan people against al Qaeda and the Taliban. The press took this remark and made jeers at it with a "WTF is he talking about?" tone. As it turned out, he was very correct. According to those extremists, smoking is against their religion. As a result, citizens that were caught smoking or with a cigarette in their hand were beaten and had their hands cut off. The locals' stance was that they liked to smoke and resented the terrorists for dismembering them for not following their form of Islam. So they began turning on al Qaeda and the Taliban and running them out of their villages. Same thing with opium. As QuestioningAnswers noted, the terrorists are equally against drugs... but at the same time, "tax" the drug trade there and receive millions annually from the operations in Afghan.
There aren’t many jobs in Afghan. Many people have turned to growing poppy as a way to make money in a time where money is scarce. The US looks at this situation as a catch 22: The US doesn’t condone nor endorse the use or manufacture of illicit drugs. BUT… If you take away some of these people’s only form of making a living, they will become resentful and revolt.
The US hence has taken the stance that policing this problem is an Afghan law-enforcement issue. The US military is in Afghan to stamp out the terrorists and provide a support role (not leading role) for the law-enforcement.
If you saw the documentary, you would see where the camera crew followed a gov’t official around Afghanistan. In one part, he confronted a poor woman who’s field was blooming with poppy plants. She begged and pleaded for the gov’t official to not destroy her fields; it was the only way she could support her family. The guy told her that he would not destroy her field, but calmly informed her that sooner or later someone would.
You’ve got to dig deeper than the surface to discover why some things are the way they are in the world.
He called on the "socialists" to join him in jihad for the first time. By “socialists” he was referring to the members of the batth party (remembers the guys who said they came to power on an American train) or the Iraqi resistance or insurgents or whatever. You see we’re being sold this image of the US vs Al-Qaeda in Iraq which is totally false it’s the US vs Iraq resistance and Al-Qaeda thrown into the mix plus a couple of others for good luck. This is the first time he’s invited his old enemy to join him in attacking a “common enemy” . Most serious commentators on the current political situation in Iraq pointed this out instantly but the media seemed to be more interested in his beard for some odd reason. Still I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it to tell you the truth I seriously thought the geezer was already pushing up daises or tumbleweed or whatever in a cave somewhere.
I don't know what CNN said about the plight of the Afghan people but the last journalist I spoke to who was actually out there said nothing had changed outside Kabul since the US/UK went in .
I think the shock of being banned or reading so much crap on the BNP site has fried your brain even further but as far as I remember you suggested that the reason the poor in Venezuela couldn't afford private health care was because Chavez wasn't supplying enough employment fro them to slap down wads of cash ...lol
So unless I leave my job and family to go to Venezuela to open a private health clinic to prove you wrong I'm a coward .....lol.....
Brilliant I see now why people missed you on the forums .....
Got any more little gems for us today or it that it for the night (remember you're on double secret probation ...shhhhh)
"as far as I remember you suggested that the reason the poor in Venezuela couldn't afford private health care was because Chavez wasn't supplying enough employment fro them to slap down wads of cash ...lol "
And you disagreed, you said price fixing would solve the problem.
"So unless I leave my job and family to go to Venezuela to open a private health clinic to prove you wrong I'm a coward .....lol....."
No, unless you personaly put your own money into opening a clinic that operates to Chavez's fixed pricing you are.
You think it will solve the problem, so prove it, pay for one to be opened.
Its not that complicated.
I think house prices in the UK will continue to rise, I dont just say it, I've put money on it.
You think fixed price healthcare will work in Ven, so, prove it, put money on it.
Its not that hard, remortgage your house and have a look for someone who'll open a clinic with the money.
Whats your problem with it?
Unless of couse, as I said, you know it wont work, but you want to throw other peoples money at it anyway.
Hugo, CArnold, AQ: take it to a forum. I'm not interested who's read what and who's opening a clinic where - well not after the first 5 messages anyway.
This Afghan story's spent too long on the front page.
If anyone can actually identify 'Al Qaeda' group, then it can be claimed that they 'won', just by forcing the USA into going to Afghanistan and Iraq (causing the USA to expend it's energy in a fruitless war in the entirely wrong country). This was Osama bin Laden's plan from the beginning, and Bush & Co. fell for it.
The Taliban is smashed-- that was the objective of the planned invasion of Afghanistan-- however, nobody seems to want to take care of the record-growth of opium in the country. stupid #$#@.
Not many people are hearing the really scary stories coming out of Afghanistan, like the large group of Chinese nationals that had their throats slit in the middle of the night in the same compound as US military forces. That's not the kind of crap that is getting picked up by western media.
