Supermodel Switch from Dollar to Euro

The world’s richest model has announced that from now on she wishes to be paid in euros as opposed to dollars due to the sliding value of the US currency.

Gisele Bündchen, 27, is estimated to have earned about $30m in the year to June. Patricia Bündchen her sister and manager told Bloomberg "Contracts starting now are more attractive in euros because we don't know what will happen to the dollar."

Last month, Warren Buffett made the surprise announcement that he was not confident about the strength of the US currency followed by Jim Rogers who said he was selling his possessions to buy into the yuan.

  Dumping Dollars - Blame Bush.
Who the heck wants dollars on them? I'd hate to be mistakes as being an American when outside the USA!

Weak dollar means nothing if you buy domestic.
And it helps us compete in international trade. So your jobs are safer.

Seriously, when was the last time you travelled outside the States? The weak dollar encourages Europeans and other nations to visit the USm because they're encouraged by the 'cheaper deals'.

It means they can tip more, buy more GAP and Abercrombie. Our dollar is weaker, but that has little bearing on your quality of life. That's 'cos of the government taxes.

If models are switching to Euro's...
maybe we should start sending them threats of war. Meanwhile I'll still deal in the green back...

  Well, thats it
if Gisele Bündchen is switching to euros...then everyone better follow. That was the egg that broke the camels back.

Why? What's wrong with being identified as an American? Here's a hint: don't live up to the stereotype of loud, fat, ignorant, and uneducated.

Globally, individual Americans are well-loved-- politically hated.

I've lived abroad for years now and rarely feel discriminated. When it does happen, USUALLY it is easy to brush off.

Most people who lambast a person solely based on someone nationality, ethnic-origin, or race.... those people are usually pathetic sad little people- no need to worry. Just be sure to count your change at the counter!

  @ redstain
your so right, here in canada, people are flocking to the U.s. to shop. And everyday theres news reports about how everyone is travelling to the U.S., people that would never even consider it before because of the money. it used to cost like as much as $1.30 cdn to buy $1.00 us, nows our dollar is worth $1.07 us, and prices are almost half of ours on the same products, theres actually a class action lawsuit right now towards the auto makers cause we pay like $20,000 more for some of the same models.
