Florida: James Gahan, possibly the first parent convicted for giving their child steroids, has asked for a delay in sentencing so he can provide authorities with information about steroid distribution. Gahan faces up to 5 years jail.
Charges were laid after his son Corey failed a drugs test carried out by the US Anti-Doping Agency. Corey, at that time an internationally ranked in-line skater, was stripped of his titles and records.
Gahan is now bankrupt and he and his son are estranged. "He would prefer not to see other fathers follow his footsteps," said his lawyer, Thomas Ostrander.
