UK: Deceased Children Moved Unlawfully

It has been revealed that the bodies of deceased children are being unlawfully transported in order for post-mortem examinations to be carried out.

There is a shortage of paediatric pathologists which has led to children being moved miles away from their families in order to have a post-mortem performed by an appropriate specialist.

Anne Viney of Cruse Bereavement Care said that it can be distressful for families when their child's body is taken miles from home.

"Some families want to view the body and for them, having the body taken miles away can be extremely difficult."

  Er..

What? Uh.. I mean, I can see where the families are coming from, but what can you do about it? Nothing really.. Doctors don't make house calls anymore. Especially not for autopsies.

  Painful

To lose your child then not be able to have the last chance for a parent or family to pay respect it is dreadful.

How low has this country gone? Because I have never known this here before.
