Old People vs. the Funeral Home

In an Idaho town, seniors are protesting the possible opening of a funeral home across the street from the retirement home, a petition has been started and will be presented at a town meeting.

The funeral homes operators are insisting that the location has nothing to do with the opening; rather the building is well suited for their needs.

Not all of the seniors are upset however, 81-year-old Doy Seng said

"We're old here. We're all ready to go,.. I think it will be handy."

i think it needs to be changed to "are protesting"

In the 2nd paragraph, "there needs" should be "their needs".

I like the quote from the old guy though, whilst it might be depressing, he's right!

well, transportation costs being what they are with the rising prices of oil and all.... the right type of person can see the humor in this situation but it still strikes me as wrong in a non-pc sort of way. looking forward to hearing about it on the talk shows tonight, those hosts need the material.

  Aside from the wordsmithing comments
I think this is hilarious. Nothing better than death and old people for a good laugh.

  Who wants this address?
In Cincinnati, OH there is a very upscale retirement
community on Union Cemetary Blvd. Don't know why
the residents don't mind.

  This story makes me laugh.
Does that make me a bad person?

A part of me asks why they didn't add the funeral home onto the retirement home as a new wing. :)

Depression highest amongst the elderly. Funeral homes and their commericals are depressing. Why contribut to it? Why do funeral homes need commercials anyway? There is a road here in Ohio that has 3 cemeteries and 9 funeral homes within a 6 mile stretch. I call it death row. How depressing to be constantly reminded of your eminent destination?
