UK Police Boast About Crashing Cars and Injuring the Public

A new FaceBook group called "Yes I Have Had A Polcol" has attracted criticism over it's shocking content. A 'PolCol' is a Police Collision. The group contains pictures of wrecked Police vehicles and jokes, including those about injured people.

One officer boasts that a colleague had 4 collisions in 2 years, stating it to be an "impressive record". The group also includes details of a drunk who's leg was broken and an 82-year-old "shouldn't be on the road" being done "a favour" by crashing.

Boasts go on to include a month in the Maldives paid for by claim money. An investigation has been launched and the Met Commissioner has been quoted as saying it is "totally unacceptable" for officers to brag about the incidents on the group.

In all fairness, the pictures at the source are interesting, but seriously? We taxpayers appear to be footing the bill for reckless endangerment of the public and destruction of brand new vehicles.

It looks like not only the drunk youth of Britain are out of control without respect or boundaries, the Storm Troopers of the state are equally as bad.

I can't remember when this country went mad......

  In all fairness
I can understand them. At least the pictures part. If I had some of those wrecks I would post pictures too.And about the comments, they are human too. Sometimes people just need to vent with others who understand them.

Wrong it was on 03/09/1658, the day Oliver Cromwell died, & the British decided to bring back the monarchy.

Then things really went down hill on the on 04/05/1979, when Margaret Thatcher became Prime Minister.

So overall a downward spiral for at least the last 400 years

Your police cars look a lot smaller than ours. Never knew that.

  Yeah we just have
hatchbacks as police cars, and a few land rovers.

The PO-lice are no different from others. I bet firemen do the same thing, they just havent been caught. Just a little humor to relieve the tension of a rough day.

  No words
What on earth can you say, to something like this.

"One Met officer posted a picture of a collision between a marked police vehicle and a small white car and wrote:

"I did him a favour. At 82 years old you just shouldn't be on the road and if you are, then most certainly don't go through a green light into the path of an innocent police car."

And no one in the department noticed there is something wrong with this guy?
