Man Arrested For Animal Cruelty; Swore at a Police Dog

28-year-old Moses Rogers, Jr. was arrested by police on animal cruelty charges for yelling an obscenity meant for a police dog that was in a squad car. He also faces a charge of disorderly conduct. The incidents occurred at 2:24 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, Rogers was walking past the patrol vehicle when he yelled something obscene in the window, "causing (the dog’s) behavior to become overloaded, tormenting the dog," said the affidavit.

More bystanders were drawn to the situation when Rogers got irate after being asked by an officer for his ID. He was eventually released on $750 bail.

  Think about this...
All these comments are about the cops. What about the idiot standing there harassing the police dog?

Maybe he shoulda bypassed all the BS and just opened the backdoor so the dog could have a word with the guy...

Let me get this straight. He yells something at a dog. Cop asks for his ID. Moses tells the cop no as he was had done nothing illegal and (this is me talking) he was within the bounds of his first amendment rights. Cop arrests him. Did I miss something?

  is it state by state?
'cuz i'm pretty sure that here, in TX, you can be arrested for obscene language. it has to be loud, in public, and someone has to call the cops on you to catch you in the act. i guess that'd be disturbing the peace or something like that, tho... huh, y'know, maybe this guy should've just walked right on past the police dog without being an a$$hat.
