"Attacking Me Because I'm White"; Ferraro Answers Critics from the Obama Side

Geraldine Ferraro today stood by her controversial comments attributing Obama's success to his race. Ferraro is quoted as saying on a CBS morning show "It wasn't a racist comment, it was a statement of fact".

According to Ferraro, every negative comment about Obama results in a charge of racism. Ferraro said if request to do so, she would resign from her position on the Clinton Finance Committee but also would continue to raise money for Mrs. Clinton.

Ms. Ferraro also said she believed she was under attack because she is white. Mrs. Clinton's spokesman Mo Eleithee said their campaign does not agree with Ms. Ferraro's remarks.

this is a deliberate attempt by the Clintons to play a reverse-racism card. If they didn't want Ferraro out there saying this stuff they would have fired her last week and made a big deal out of doing it.

  Uh huh.
Because I'm sure every racist out there doesn't think that their racist opinion is 'fact'. ;)

  poor ferraro
i long for the day that white people will be treated equally in this country. it's so obvious that obama is at an advantage for being black. maybe one day we will see a white president in the oval office. white people have it so hard in washington. keep fighting the good fight ferraro.

Ah, yes. I enjoy that comment each time you re-post it.

Frankly, I somewhat agree that Obama being part black has helped him tremendously. The only reason I think this is because every time I say "He's not saying anything new if he's saying anything at all", I hear "You just don't like him because he's black."

if people of privilege stopped yelling racism, i wouldn't need to repost so much.

and no, you can legitimately disagree with obama without being labeled a racist. it's as simple as not bringing up his race to advance your argument. the clinton campaign has had a hard time doing that to the point where it's obvious that they're doing it intentionally.

  Ferrao Flashback, 1988 :
"Geraldine A. Ferraro (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that because of his "radical" views, "if Jesse Jackson were not black, he wouldn't be in the race."

  @Slick Willy
"reverse racism" is a racist term.
As if regular racism can't happen to white people.

Also: Clinton is only where she is because of the colour of her skin.
